REL Acoustics Subwoofers

Authorised REL Acoustics Dealer — Reference, Serie S, Serie T/x, Serie HT, Classic & Planar

REL Acoustics is Britain’s most acclaimed subwoofer manufacturer, with a philosophy entirely distinct from the rest of the industry. REL subwoofers are not conventional low-frequency-effects (LFE) boxes — they are designed to integrate seamlessly with main speakers as a true extension of the full-range system, adding speed, weight, and harmonic richness to music while simultaneously delivering cinematic impact for film. Their patented High Level input, taken directly from the speaker terminals of the power amplifier, ensures the subwoofer inherits the exact character of the amplifier driving the main speakers — a sonic integration that no other brand achieves.

Audio Dynamics is an authorised REL Acoustics dealer. We supply, integrate and calibrate the complete REL range — the Reference Series, Serie S, Serie T/x, Serie HT, and the latest Classic and Planar ranges — as part of a properly designed system rather than as a box on a shelf. You can hear REL for yourself at our Experience Center in Koramangala, Bangalore, and our consultants will help you choose and integrate the right model for your room, your speakers and the way you listen.

Reference Series

The Pinnacle of Sub-Bass Engineering

REL’s Reference Series represents the absolute apex of what is possible in subwoofer design — instruments that do not merely reproduce bass but reconstitute the entire harmonic and spatial fabric of a recording. Finished in 12-coat piano black lacquer requiring weeks of hand-finishing, each Reference model is stackable in Line Array configuration for truly unlimited scale.

No.32 — The flagship. A 15" pure carbon fibre driver powered by a 1,000-watt NextGen7 Class D amplifier, extending to 15Hz at -6dB. Dual parametric EQ filters, REL Reference Remote, and simultaneous High Level and LFE inputs make the No.32 the definitive tool for the most ambitious dedicated home cinema and two-channel reference rooms.

No.31 — Shares the Reference Series DNA with the same carbon fibre construction and NextGen amplification at a slightly smaller scale, delivering astonishing depth and authority for large rooms where the No.32’s sheer scale is not required.

Key specifications
  • No.32 — 15″ carbon-fibre driver · 1,000W NextGen7 Class D · 15Hz (−6dB) · sealed · High Level + LFE (RCA & XLR) · Line Array compatible · 12-coat Piano Black
  • No.31 — 12″ carbon-fibre driver · 900W NextGen7 Class D · 17Hz (−6dB) · sealed · High Level + LFE · Line Array compatible · Piano Black

Best for: the largest, most demanding high-end music and reference cinema rooms.

Classic

Vintage-voiced, tonally matched bass

REL’s Classic range revives a warm, characterful voicing designed to complement vintage and tonally rich systems — paper-cone drivers in retro-styled cabinets that pair beautifully with classic loudspeakers and valve amplification. The Classic 99 (12″ driver, 450W) and Classic 98 (10″ driver, 300W) bring REL’s signature High Level integration to systems where character matters as much as outright extension. View Classic →

Planar

Slim, on-wall subwoofers

The newest addition to the REL family, Planar is an ultra-slim on-wall subwoofer range — around 144 mm deep — that uses the wall itself to reinforce bass, for rooms where a floor-standing box simply isn’t an option. Both models (PL-1 and PL-2) ship with wireless built in, making them ideal for décor-sensitive rooms, media spaces and clean modern interiors. View Planar →

The REL difference

High Level connection

REL’s signature. The subwoofer is fed the same full-range signal as your main speakers, taken directly from the amplifier’s speaker terminals, so it inherits the exact tonal character of your system and integrates seamlessly for music. A separate LFE input handles the .1 channel for film — and most RELs use both at once.

Line Array stacking

Reference, select Serie S and the HT/1510 can be physically stacked and wired into a vertical array. Stacking increases output and, crucially, evens out bass across the seats while adding dynamic headroom — the reference approach for large rooms and dedicated cinemas.

Zero-compression wireless

Where cabling is difficult, REL’s wireless systems — Longbow and the flagship AirShip II for two-channel and Reference, and HT-Air MKII for home theatre — carry the High Level and .1/LFE signals without compression, preserving REL’s integration without a cable run.

REL subwoofers — frequently asked questions

Is Audio Dynamics an authorised REL dealer?

Yes. Audio Dynamics is an authorised REL Acoustics dealer. We supply, integrate and calibrate the full REL range, and you can hear REL subwoofers at our Experience Center in Koramangala, Bangalore.

What makes a REL different from an ordinary subwoofer?

REL calls its products sub-bass systems rather than subwoofers. Using REL’s High Level connection, the subwoofer is fed the same full-range signal as your main speakers directly from the amplifier, so it takes on the character of your system and integrates seamlessly for music — while a separate LFE input handles the .1 channel for film.

Which REL subwoofer is right for me?

Serie T/x suits most homes and music-first systems; Serie HT is built for dedicated home cinema; and Serie S and the Reference Series are for high-end, large rooms. The right model depends on your room size, your speakers and whether you prioritise music, cinema or both. Contact us for a personalised recommendation.

Can one REL do both music and home theatre?

Yes. Most REL models accept the High Level (music) and LFE (cinema) inputs simultaneously, so a single REL can serve both roles. Serie T/x and Serie S are excellent dual-purpose choices, while Serie HT is optimised specifically for film.

How many REL subwoofers do I need?

A single REL is transformative in most rooms. A stereo pair improves bass imaging for two-channel music, and multiple subs or a REL Line Array improve evenness and output in larger rooms and dedicated cinemas. We advise the right number based on your room.

Do you install and calibrate REL subwoofers?

Yes. Correct placement, High Level and LFE integration and measured calibration are part of our installation and consultancy service, so your REL performs at its best within the complete system.

Where can I hear REL subwoofers in India?
