Audio & Video Calibration Closing the gap between what your system can do and what you hear.

Even the finest equipment arrives knowing nothing about your room, your screen or your seating. Out of the box, speakers play at the wrong relative levels and distances, bass piles up in some seats and vanishes in others, and displays ship in vivid showroom modes that bear little resemblance to what the director approved. Calibration is the precise, measured process of correcting all of this — so the system finally performs to the standard you paid for.

It is also, in our experience, the single most cost-effective upgrade most owners can make. No new box transforms a system the way proper calibration does.

Audio calibration — measured, not guessed

We calibrate by measurement, not by ear and intuition. Using reference-grade instruments, we characterise exactly how your loudspeakers and your room behave together, then correct it methodically. For the most demanding systems we specialise in Trinnov optimisation — among the most capable room-correction platforms available anywhere.

Unlike the basic auto-EQ built into mainstream receivers, Trinnov measures the room in three dimensions with a multi-capsule microphone and corrects in both the frequency and time domains — addressing not just tonal balance but the timing and phase errors that blur imaging and soften bass. A full calibration with us typically includes:

  • Room and loudspeaker measurement — capturing the true in-room response at the listening positions, not the manufacturer's anechoic ideal.
  • Levels, distances and crossovers — set precisely so every channel arrives at the right time and the right loudness.
  • Bass and subwoofer management — integrating one or several subwoofers for deep, even, tuneful bass across every seat, not just one.
  • Target-curve tuning — shaping the final response to a proven reference target, then refined by critical listening.

The result is what the system was always capable of: precise imaging, clean and articulate bass, dialogue that locks to the screen, and a soundfield that holds together across the whole room.

Video calibration — the picture, as intended

A display is only honest once it has been calibrated. We tune projectors and screens to recognised reference standards — correcting white balance, gamma and colour for both standard dynamic range (Rec.709) and HDR — using professional measurement instruments and test patterns rather than eyeballed presets. The payoff is natural skin tones, true colour, deep accurate contrast and a picture that shows what the film-maker actually graded, not a torch-mode caricature of it.

Whatever you own, wherever you bought it

You do not have to have bought your system from us. Whether we designed and installed it or you already own a system that has never sounded or looked quite right, we can measure it, calibrate it, and show you the difference properly — on quality systems built around any serious brand.

Why Audio Dynamics

Calibration rewards experience and the right tools in equal measure. Over 18 years we have measured and tuned a great many rooms, we work with reference instrumentation rather than guesswork, and because we also design and build our own loudspeakers, we understand systems from the driver up — which is exactly the understanding good calibration depends on. You are also welcome to hear the standard we work to first-hand at our Experience Center in Koramangala.

Where it fits

Calibration is the final step that brings together everything before it — your Needs Analysis, Acoustic Design and Sound System Design. Treat the room well and choose the system carefully, and calibration is what lets all of it perform as one.

Frequently asked questions

Do I really need professional calibration if I have bought good equipment?

Almost always, yes. Equipment quality sets the ceiling; calibration is what lets you reach it. The room and the way the system is set up have an enormous effect on what you hear and see, and even excellent gear underperforms noticeably until it has been measured and corrected for its actual surroundings.

What is Trinnov calibration?

Trinnov is a high-end optimisation platform that measures your room in three dimensions and corrects sound in both the frequency and time domains — going well beyond the simple auto-EQ found in mainstream receivers. It is one of the most capable room-correction technologies available, and it is our preferred tool for the most demanding systems.

Can you calibrate a system you did not supply or install?

Yes. If you already own a system that has never sounded or looked quite right, we are happy to measure and calibrate it, whoever supplied or installed it.

Do you calibrate both sound and picture?

Yes. We offer measurement-based audio calibration and reference video calibration for projectors and displays, so both what you hear and what you see are brought to standard.

What does a calibration session involve?

In short: careful measurement, methodical adjustment, and verification by re-measuring and listening. The exact scope depends on the size and complexity of your system, which we will confirm with you beforehand.

The need for calibration is vital to keep a measure on the quality of the products, it is one of the primary process method to maintain product accuracy. By calibrating, we configure the instrument to show a result for a sample within a given range. We take a step ahead of precaution during product design by eliminating or minimizing factors that cause inaccuracy in the products while calibrating.

Our processes vary product to product, but all the same we work hand in hand with our calibrators achieving an exact correlation at specific points within the product’s operating range. The results that are achieved are used to anchor a relationship between the desired levels of performance of the product and the values. the process thereby allows the product to product results more accurate than otherwise. While we could use a large number of calibrators to establish the calibration relationship or the curve; The time and labor associated with preparing and testing a large number of calibrators might be less worth than the result achieved.

The manufacture specific calibrators work best per product to give you the best results and thereby extinguishing any chance of product errors.
